The Central Maryland Fly Fishing Council is a unique group of private fly fishing organizations, non-profits, and federal and state government agencies that share a common interest in the wise utilization, preservation and protection of the streams, rivers, and lakes in central Maryland and the aquatic life they contain. It was created to further the following four goals:
Communication - To provide a forum for communication between all its constituent groups and the public on matters of common interest to the fly fishing community.
Conservation - To provide a focal point for conservation and other projects that could benefit from the participation of more than one group.
Education – To promote educational opportunities in the areas of fly fishing and conservation.
Advocacy - To provide an amplified voice to respond to legislative issues and other regulatory issues of concern to fly fisherman and conservationists.
